Hello,

I had some problems to make long stories on my website and I read on Wiki that we could archive the stories in two places: on the database or a file that we can create ourselves. Currently, the stories are stored on the database. My site has been around for years and wondered if it was possible to change the location of the archived stories and create a new archive file so that the stories are no longer stored directly on the database?

Thank you for your response and your help.

If you want to switch from database to files, you'll most likely have to manually transfer the stories to files... (Loooots of copying and pasting.)

archive: dramione.org
site: accio.nu

Available for skin/mod commission! 🙂

I see...

It is not possible to leave the old stories where they are and arrange to put the stories in the new folder?

Thanks for your help!

I suspect that if you change the settings over from database to stories, that would work fine for new stories but all the existing ones in the database would no longer be accessibe. I am not completely certain of that, but i do not think you can have two paths to your stories.
One way to check would be to set up a dummy site, and give it a try.

why is nothing ever easy?
