So the install went through and added the vaporware but I am getting the following errors

Warning: Unsupported declare 'strict_types' in --/simplymitchellkummen/fiction/index.php on line 36

Any idea on a fix?

First of all, sorry for getting back so late, RL had me spinning again.

That's acommand that should only be run in PHP7, I assume you are running PHP5 which has no clue what this command does and drops an error.

I removed the line in the last push, must see if that causes implications with return values somewhere.

I got it to show there's an error on authors and the user panel and admin panel could it be the same problem with the php7 ?

http://simplymitchellkummen.com/fiction/

for author's I get

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'list' (T_LIST), expecting identifier (T_STRING) in /home2/app/view/authors.php on line 16
Internal Server Error
Fatal error: syntax error, unexpected 'list' (T_LIST), expecting identifier (T_STRING)

User and Admin CP

Late again, but here I am:

First of all I may assume you are running PHP 5.4.x?

That would explain the last two errors, and most likely error #1 as well.

First one I fixed by renaming a function, "list" can be seen as a reserved keyword by PHP, it shouldn't in an OOP context and doesn't in PHP7, but well, renaming it was easy.

The other errors emerge from PHP 5.4 (if that's the case) being very old and not properly handling type casting (that's the (int) part) in functions. This happens in many places as it allows to handle malformed calls effectively (if the script expects e.g. a user id number, it will disregard anything entered that's not a number).

So I will keep that pending, please get back to me with your PHP version and check, if it can be updated, it is very old and should not be used in productive environment anymore.

Either should do, but 7.0 is the future, 5.6 ... well, not so much.

Downloaded the efiction5-installer from Githup and ran the installation.
I have got the following error message, after I chose "Use mySQL database storage".

Internal Server Error
Call to undefined method install::error() [/home/u12345/public_html/efic/inc/install.php:62]

[efic/lib/base.php:1873] install->steps()
[efic/lib/base.php:1673] Base->call()
[efic/index.php:61] Base->run()

Any idea what could have gone wrong?
I would like to install it and test it a bit because it looks very promising.
