somebody - user with nick holls91 - updated efiction tinymce script with tinymce 4.5.3 I just used, but there were other important things to do. I fixed toogle on/off functionality. But I noticed that now it uses almost all buttons (like fonts, colors) and it is missing Paste from Word functionality.
But it still applies limitations to allowed HTML tags you can set in efiction settings. And the same rules are applied for all textareas - news and stories.
It is just confusing. I would suggest to use full tinymce editor for news and limited one for stories.
I would like to open a discussion on how this editor area should work. On our old site with different cms we still use tinymce3 but it is limited only to some admins.

For me I just use html and regular text I never really used the tinymce it corrupted the text most of the time.
Most of the writers on my two sites love Tinymce. They prefer both the Paste from Word and Text functionality. It makes formatting a story or chapter much easier. One question, does the upgraded Tinymce versions offer paragraph alignment and indentation?
@kaleidopy Thanks for the reply. There is no other option for me than to allow copy from Word or another free editor. But it has to be safe. Now we are solving safety by allowing selected people to access to admin area.
We tried to replace it with my other CMS - that is paranoic about stripping any content from tinymce - until we found it removed whole paragraph because of some mess in Word itself. Nobody knows why, but we are back to our tinymce3 limited access.
Paragraph alignment is there (buttons), but it is stripped before saving by efiction itself. It doesn't allow formatting except for tags you allowed in efiction settings and . paragraph alignment is done with inline styling now... so it is stripped ( tag center is not allowed/correct anymore, the same with tag font etc). The same for headings ... so those buttons are useless now.
Indentation should be solved in TinyMCE settings.

@marcy Just from curiosity - if you are used to HTML and coding, how will you do this in Wordpress editor? Will you use guttenberg or classic editor, or switch to HTML tab? WP uses customized TinyMce for classic editor.

For Html snippets i use the Guttenberg custom html block. I don't switch editors, but some of my sites do work on the classic editor so I've gotten use to both. For the classic editor i use to write html coding I never used the tinymce editor hardly at all.

Original editor
- if you set Tinymce Message in Admin Settings, the result is a small editor with some buttons. And only if you click on the checkbox toggle button. By default, there is no tinymce. See image 1
- without Tinymce Message there is a full editor fired (correct toggle checkbox now) but most of the buttons are useless again.
How this should work?

I added the option to select what TinyMCE version you want to use. I must say that TM4 is really cleaning direct paste word Content very well.
