Poll and Shoutbox not working on index only

Version of PHP: 5.5 but have tried various versions
Version of MySQL: MariaDB
Have you searched for your problem: Yes
If so, what terms did you try: Poll block and shoutbox
State the nature of your problem: I moved servers and the Poll and Shoutbox won't work on the index page (works on other pages). I've tried changing options via blocks and in myphp and I can't seem to get them working and not sure what I've missed.
