Right. I have been trying for two days now to solve the mystery behind this. I've installed efiction several times before for other webspaces and never had trouble.
I uploaded all the files, to a directory in the public_html folder for the fan fiction,  CHMODed everything accordingly, moved the config.php file back to the main folder, edited in all my database and mySQL user info (and have bow now checked if maybe I had a typo about 10 times ...) and then went to www.angelcoulby.net/fiction and this is what I get:

Anyone know any help?

I've had an overzealous Wordpress 404 plug-in decide that some non-Wordpress directories didn't exist before. Are you using a plug-in or a theme that has special error pages?

Skins made by Kali are no longer supported!

Have you talked to your host?  And are you sure you've got the right folder?  Even the README.txt is coming up as 404 for me.

Well, I deleted the readme.txt from the server (only have it on file now) so that would be that but ... I haven't contacted my host, no. But I don't see what could be the problem. Installing Coppermine and Wordpress went without a hitch ... *muses* I will, obviously, contact them if the problem remains though that would be rather annoying ... :/

thanks for looking into it, though! I do appreciate it and feel a little less stupid now πŸ™‚

I would take a close look at your folder names.  I have more than once made an error in naming something and not noticed.  It's easy not to notice that what you think is fiction is actually spelled fiiction (double i) or fictoin (i and o reversed) or something similar.
