Hey all,
I just found the ideal solution for the fiction & forums dilemma so many of us face! It should even work for pure fiction sites! :idea1:
It's called Fanfics System Pro (there's a free version with less features) and it's a mod for SMF (yep the software these forums are running on)! Instead of using characters, it uses tags which means you can use it for fiction sites as well as fanfiction sites! It even has support for series and co-authors, as well as support for moderated (and unmoderated) stories!
For just US$50, it's a great mod, considering all of the other mods out there (I found it browsing the SMF Mods site ironically enough.)
Check it out here and let me know what you think!
I'm gonna stick with efiction. π
Uhm, and your link doesn't work.

Check it now, it should work just fine. I'm going to use it in the future, it looks a lot easier than running two admin areas!
It doesn't look that bad. But I prefer a new efiction version nevertheless. Two of my three archives don't even have a forum and I don't plan to change that.
But if this is what you like, go ahead and have fun with it. π

Yeah, I have to stick with eFiction if only because I've had some poor experiences with SMF extensions in the past. I'm not overly fond of moving to SMF as a primary platform and running that kind of a mod against it. Now, if there was something decent extending vBulletin or IPB, I'll take a closer look.

Skin: One of Kali's, but I'm not sure. It's been heavily modded.

I'll await the new efiction. My site doesn't have smf on it. (I run other websites that do have SMF but they aren't fiction sites). I would guess even if one did do this FFPro thing that importing the old stories would be time and labor intensive.
