It would be nice to have a feature that will allow a reader to export the story to a pdf file and save it for future reading...

Somebody is asking for a Hinne Whooping!

Definitely got .pdf and .epub (maybe .mobi also) planned.

Sheep, could that be an option an author could turn on or off? For instance, I'm not super keen on people saving my fic in any form. I know a lot of authors don't care and readers do want the option, so I would hate to not use the feature totally, but maybe optional for a few of us persnickety people?

$allow_export = FALSE?
Possible, yes, but be aware that once they can read it, they can just copy/paste the whole thing to any Word/Office software and save it from there.

But I'll keep that in mind when going through the author control panel.

The problem with that is it may be in a whole lot of chapters, and I for one do not want to have to copy and paste chapter after chapter, which is why I would like to ability to export to pdf...

So do I, and that's why I implemented it (and it's working already, like 99,9% of times).
But if an author or webmaster would choose not to allow this, you would have to take it to them, cause after all, it's their stuff.
