How do I adjust this skin for a 800px width resolution
You will have to play with the width of the container and side columns, and the margins on the main content div.
Can I adjust the skin for use my archive?
By all means, go ahead. However, DO NOT REMOVE MY CREDIT LINK. You may distribute your version of the skin (with your own credit) provided that my credit link remains intact and all the .txt files are included with the distribution.

Kali,
I'm unable to download the file. I get a 404 error.

For some reason the FTP decided to hold the file in the queue rather than upload it. π It's up now.

I like it. It's very fast loading. I did alter the shade of blue in the style.css from teal to a more vibrant blue though.

I tried to cut all the code I could to get it to load fast. I also preferred a brighter color as an accent, but I figured I'd go as neutral as possible. I've also added the black version that I've had a few requests for.

Now I only have one problem... IE7 cuts the top off the header. But it looks fine in Firefox and Opera.
CSS is not my strong suit so a hint on how to plug in something for IE to make it behave would be great.

Apparently just adding a top margin to the header solves that problem.

Took some mucking about with pixels but yes, margin-top did the trick. Thank you Kali!

Whoops! Just realized where I had accidentally posted this. Would a modly type person move this back to skin submissions? Thanks.
ETA: I can't spell today.

You actually posted this to the submission folder and I moved it to the downloads folder after making sure all the information was correct and the skin worked.
Oh, okay. It's just not in the 3.0 skins so I figured I had a brain fart when I posted it. π

Oops! I moved it to the wrong place. Fixed now. π
I love your skin but I'm having trouble figuring out which css code does what. I know you've already released this one but I think other people who provide skins also have information embedded within the css that lets the person modifying the skin know what each part of the css means.
For example I'm trying to center the Alphabet and I can't figure out which of the 10 alphabets in the css code I need to center. I'll probably figure it out eventually but as a novice with css I have to say I'm having a tough time with this. π
That's because Blanc was not meant to be messed with so I compressed the css file to make it smaller. I release skins as the way I intend them to look. If someone wants to modify them, that's fine, but it's not a 'fault' in my coding if someone can't.
Blanc is a very poor skin for customization because the css is specialized. I'll see if I can find the non-compressed file, but the skin was created on my old harddrive so it's unlikely. You're better off using something like Safari and simply stripping out the images and changing the width of the container.

this could explain it. I've tried modifying Safari, strangely enough I've had an easier time of it with the Blanc skin. I really liked the way things were laid out. The only thing I haven't figured out is why IE7 is mis-aligning the block elements on all the pages. On IE8 it looks fine from what I hear but I think IE hates every webdesigner...
My experience with most skins is the skin creator has information embedded throughout to help people modify skins. I hadn't realized that you only did this with certain skins and that some weren't meant to be customized.
I was going to look into turning the px into % but I think that'll have to wait for another weekend to try out. Or I can check out the Safari skin again and maybe it won't be so intimidating this time around. (I may have learned more than I realized in the last year about css since I've started formatting html for ebook devices)
