3 column was a 2.0 skin, did you modify it to work in 3.0?

What skin are you using? It may have something in its style.css that's causing the  problem.

Go to Admin -> BlocksWhere you see Categories make sure you don't have the selection "Inactive" set. Change it via the dropdown list...

What version of Opera are you using? I don't remember tinyMCE acting up in it except for earlier versions. It's at version 9.50 now.
