Does anyone know if efic has controls in place that will
disallow skin viewing from non-members?
Long story short, I have over 50 skins, and what I'd like
to do is have a default skin up, but make it so people who
are just looking in the pet shop window, so to speak, can't
use the drop menu on the homepage to browse all the skins
that are available to my members.
I know skins can be hidden, but I think that hides them from
everyone but me, which I don't want.
And while we're on a skin issue....
Is there a limit to how many skins we can have hidden? Like I said,
I have about 50, but whenever I try to hide all but 10-15 of them,
the site refuses to do it. It will just stop hiding them at a certain point
and skins that I'm not ready to make available become available.
Has anyone experienced this?

This script never ceases to amaze me how bad it is.
My design has the template change hidden by default. You'll need to go into the settings to pick one or as admin set the visible ones with an optional override so there's only one available.

Efic has its quirks, but I can't complain.
I've been using different versions since 2006 and I've been satisfied
with it. Having certain default options -like the ones that you're adding
to your version- would be nice, but for what it's worth, I'm very thankful
to everyone who put this version together. It has suited my needs pretty
well. 😀
You could probably repeat the code that hide the skin for non-admins, but change the part that identifies non-admins to non-members instead & have both functionalities. The script does have the ability set up for instance with pagelinks visibility level.
I've never had that many skins so I've never seen the problem. I've never heard of an official limit either, but who knows.

Can you tell me exactly how to do that? I kind of suck at code,
so if you could give me a "newb" explanation, I'd be really grateful. >_<
For example, when you say I could just repeat the code and change it
to non-members, can you tell me where I'd do that?
Or do you think this is more of a mod and I should ask on that forum?
EDIT: Though this isn't exactly what I wanted (since I like to change
my default skin often), adjusting the index.tpl in the skin can make the drop
menu disappear and stop people from browsing my skins. But unfortunately,
that method blocks everyone, myself included, leaving skin changing options
only in personal preferences. Worst case scenario, at least there's that. lol.
Okay, I suck. Can't believe it's been 3 months since I came around. If it's any consolation, it was in the middle of finals that I last was here. BUT... it's in the middle of finals again now. (YAY avoidance?) So if you still want this, can you remind me in like, 2 weeks? By then it'll all be over and I'll be bored out of my mind on summer break.
