I was told by my webhost that to override my maximum connections in MySql  I needed to ask the developer of EFiction how to disable persistent connections because when I get over 40 users on at once the database goes crazy and I get MySQL errors all over the place. So can you please tell me how to disable persistent connections?

version 2.07
MySQL version 4.1

the webhost says they cannot do it for me and it is actually in the program, I did do a search but nobody else seems to have that problem 🙂

We're not using persistent connections.

Do you have any other scrips installed such as forum software? Yup I just found it, it's probably IPB, since that's a really outdated free version.

SMF has a persistent connection setting that can be enabled or disabled in the admin section. You may have enabled it while installing it.

Probably because even though it's a subdomain, it's still associated with the domain address.

You're sitting in it. This board uses SMF. It's a free bbs script. Just click on the smf (simple machines forum) link on the bottom of the page and it should take you to it.
