Hi

It seems the 2 efictions are running off one another so I must have bridged them together fine and we can be automatically logged into smf and both efictions after logging in once :).

What I would like to know is how do I keep the 2 category databases seperate please?

I have one instance called Fiction and one called Non Fiction but I dont want the non fiction categories being mixed with the Fiction categories. The categories have shown up in the Non Fiction as well and visa versa.

Thanks Kate

They should already be separated by the tableprefix you used when bridging the 2 installs.

Ok thanks.

Just that I noticed the categories that I had put in one had shown up in the other one once it had all caught up with itself.

Is this anything to do with the site key? Just wondering. I will do a test category in one and see if it turns up in the other.

What I was worried about is if I delete one category is it going to delete in the other.

many thanks,
Kate

I did a test category so I must have done something wrong here. I went into Fiction and created a test category and it showed up in the Non fiction.

Can I easily change this

thanks

Sorry please ignore this post for now. I obviously have set it up all wrong.

I am going to try re installing it all again.

I will re read the instructions again. Sometimes instructions are not easy. I know these are but am one of those who dont always get it first time round being a newbie to php etc. Not a fool so dont get me wrong, just with some things it takes me a couple of goes to get it right, sometimes.

please bear with me.

Hi

I have re installed the software and when I installed the second one I did not put any prefixes. Hands down, I still dont understand about those fully but am getting there.

My efictions are both bridged with SMF so this means that I can log in to all areas but also have the admin sections seperately. I am happy for this means I can have the 2 category databases seperate.

sorry for any bother earlier. I am all sorted now. Thank you.
