Hello my darlings I am new to eFiction sent here by a fellow fiction lover.

Now I know alot of you have better things to do than help me but I thought I would give it a go anyway.

I would really appreciate anyone who has installed this before and doesn't mind helping out someone who has only has html knowledge.

1. I have a domain and web hosting.

2. I have downloaded the efiction 3.0

3. I don't wish to play around with skins yet I just want to get it up on my webhosting server πŸ™‚

4. I wish for my domain to point to www.grangerenchanted.com/fanfiction so do I have to name the database fanfiction? I have already made a new database called eFiction and added a new user "admin" (me)

5. So now what do I do? do I need an FTP client to upload the efiction data and do I do it file by file? do I upload it to the database or to another file?

wahhh I am so confused my head is hurting I feel so stupid and ten minutes ago I was feeling quite smart...

my msn is pinkwands@hotmail.com and if anyone wants to add me to help this poor old soul I would love you forever and name you in my will.... πŸ˜€

You need to upload the efiction files into a folder called "fanfiction" on your domain. (I'm assuming the domain you paid for is "grangerenchanted.com"?) The easiest way to upload the efiction files into a folder called efiction is to change the name of the folder on your computer from eficton30 to fanfiction and upload the whole thing via an FTP client. There will be further instructions regarding your database and user once you run the install which are pretty self-explanatory.

There is also a readme file that should be in the download. πŸ™‚ I managed to blunder my way through installing mine with that and by using the forum.

Hi MistressMalfoy. I sent you an email. If you still need help, let me know. I am in the throes of the Joomla-eFiction bridge, and do understand the pains of web development.  πŸ˜†

Regards,
Brat.
