Have you searched for your problem: Yes
If so, what terms did you try: php.ini
State the nature of your problem: I had a thread earlier about moving my efiction site to another area on the server, under a new domain name. I did the move tonight, and it didn't quite work. I realised some of the .php files on the main page were chmodded to 000, and I looked and they were empty, so I re-uploaded new versions. One of the files that had this was php.ini but I don't have a copy of the file, or I don't know where to find it in the efiction files. The site seems to be working now that I replaced the chmod 000 files, but I'm not sure if not having a php.ini file will do anything to the site. :S Also, I was told that I needed to set the right path for the stories folder, but am unsure how.
Do you have a test account for us? Yes. Fruity123
ETA - I found the php.ini file in the backup I did before the move, and uploaded it, so I'm guessing that fixes it? :S Still not sure on the stories thing
ETA 2 - I uploaded a story and it appeared and looked okay, does that mean that it's in the right folder?
The stories path is saved in the database, so as long as the folder location hasn't changed with the move then it's good. You know it works if the stories that you already had on the site are displaying all their text.
php.ini is something specific to your setup and isn't part of eFiction, but it sounds like you got that sorted?
Thanks Lyndsie. π I can see the stories, so I guess that means it works. π
And yeah, I think the php.ini got sorted too π
