I was wondering how difficult it would be to make a mod to add pairings. The way I was thinking it would be to basically duplicate the characters section and modify it for pairings, so that you have both. But I know eff all about PHP, so I imagine that attempting it myself would be rather disastrous.
Is there anyone who could do that? How difficult would it be?
Ditto - I'm interested in this too. Although I'm mostly interested in how to create extra boxes that are category dependent but not required to post (for example, if I wanted to add a category that was for Blade, I want to then add an extra "World" Box so that my users could choose between Blade 1, Blade 2 or neither for their fic).
I would agree with the World box, as some are in multiple worlds (ie. Pokemon - anime, games, and manga for a good example).
OP: would a classification not work for your needs?
No, it doesn't. That's what we're using right now, but we have a fair number of fandoms already. Using Classification for pairings is a half-decent fill for what we're looking for, but it's definitely not ideal. Because it has to list every pairing on the site and it's limited to whatever fandom you're posting in.
We need something that's more like how the Character section is done. Where you can add each items and have it tied to a specific Category.
