This will be my first mod. Start with it next week.
The mod will be about preferred filters (i.e. only display Slash (category) or exclude it).
The filters will be stored in the profile (preferences), where users can choose out of multiple categories then want to include/exclude.
After that, when the user browses through the fics, he will see always the filter active from the preferences.
Anyone has some additional ideas about this mod?
The idea behind it is that the ficdom.net support many different categories. It gives the users, who are - for example - only interested in HP, the ability to see only fics about Harry Potter and it will ignore the rest.
Hi wimvincken,
We are in the desperate need of such mod. I was going to write it by myself, but I saw your topic. Could you please let me know, how the things are going? If you have decided to quit modding, could you please just post things, which are already done? I suppose I can continue your work.
Yes, I will start programing this mod next week.
There will be at least two mods.
1. A mod and block, which will remember the last advance search and with the block you can restore the search with one small button or combobox (for multiple searches to save)
2. The filters. That might be something I need Tammy for, because I think logically that it will take some changes everywhere.
The filters must be available in the filter mod of the Account Info and must contain a filter screen.
In that filter screen, the user has the ability to make selections from all the classifications in the system and ratings
(the categories are here ignored)
From that moment on, a block, where the user can switch on/off the filters. That means that every story in efiction, mod and block must be automatically filtered.
I hope I did not take too much on my back for this one.
Tammy, heeeeelp π³ :-o!? What are your thoughts?
Good luck. You'll be rewriting almost everything that pulls more than one story.
Did this ever happen?
Does sound like a complete rewrite of the code so I'm thinkinig it hasn't but I am curious myself.
I am rebuilding efiction! Join us on irc! #efiction at
