I'd like to be able to have a selection of keywords included with a story. Which users can select as many as they want from a list.

Not sure if this is possible, which is why I'm asking here.

...I have tried using "Classifications" but I can't figure out their purprose. Dispite adding several and selecting them on a story they dont appear anywhere in the story's page.

This should be in the 3.0 Mods forum... moving there now...

Classifications are things like Genres, Pairings, ect. You create your own that your users can select from.

They are probably not showing up because they are not listed on the skins... the skins show certain things. If you create new ones, you have to add them to the skins to show up. Read the scripts skins docs to find out more.

"scripts skins docs" means nothing to me, is this the proper name for a file somewhere?

I guess my question is then, is the possible to have Classifications show up in the story box along with the summary of the story?

Sometimes people around here are so cryptic with their answers I cant help but wonder if you're in third world countries and have a limit on the number of characters you can type on the internet. Going over that limit offends your dictator and you could be publicly executed.

I think I figured it out though. Thanks.

Basically, you should have read the readme's and .docs that came with the eFiction script.

script's (efiction script) skins (the layouts) docs (they have .docs files that you can read).

Well I guess it's my fault then. I read this useless document called "docs/adminmanual.htm". Which only talks about adding classifications, not adding them to a skin.

So then I tried "docs/creating_skins.htm" which doesn't have a single mention of classifications.

I couldn't seem to find "Script skins doc", "Scripts eFiction script" or "skins the layouts". But maybe I'm just not seeing them in the clutter of documents within "/docs"?

I don't think the creating skins docs have been updated to reflect the changes in 3.0 when classifications were added as a feature. Sometimes we as mods assume the answer will be in the most obvious place without actually looking to see it if is. I'm assuming that's what happened when Jan replied.

At any rate, you say you figured it out. I would appreciate it if you and Jan would let the discussion drop now.

You are welcome to bring the original subject back up if you need additional help.
