This is neither a request nor a problem or anything so I hope this is the right spot. Just out of curiosity: I had a look at the fanfiction_characters table (was looking for something but I'll be back and really annoying about that once I've decided that I won't get any further *lol*) and found that next to charid, catid, charname and bio ther is also a column called image. Now, if I'm not mistaken this is not in use in the efiction version 3.5, right? There is no option when creating/adding a character to assign a picture like we can do on category-creation and as far as I can tell (which is not that far, to be honest) it doesn't get called when looking at the browse-page for a specific character, right?
I've been searching around for a neat solution to creating some sort of character page. Stumbled across a post by itanshi which adresses this idea ( https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=5886.0 - Adding profiles for categories and characters) and might give that a go. I was just wondering if the image - option in the character table was in use or might be of use some time or if I'm just blind and can't see how to use it.
I am really sorry for spamming that much, lately. I'm just really working on my fanfiction-archive a lot at the moment and I get more and more interested in modding/coding and such the longer I stare at the code in the files 😉
btw: I did search if this was asked before, but couldn't find anything.

Yeah, I basically proved it is an unused entry in the sql database. I wish to use it like you do. I put a image url in the field for a character, put a {image} variable in browse.tpl and no image appears. I'd love a help file on adjusting this relationship between fanfiction_characters and browse.tpl so I can have more fields to play with.
Of course that will mean additional fields for admin>characters
