How can I edit my efiction code so that I can disallow reviews per chapter? I only want users to be able to leave one review per the whole story. Please advise. Thanks!

You would have to heavily modify the script plus make changes to the database. Unless you know PHP, mySQL, and eFiction VERY well, I wouldn't even try it.
I appreciate your answering me. However I don't understand why a developer here couldn't assist me with what I see as simple. All I am asking is for the review feature (review box) to be removed from each chapter and placed on the main story page so that readers only leave one review for the whole story instead of per chapter. Apparently this used to be done like this before the eficition software was mooded so NOW it is done per chapter. All I am asking is how to switch it back. Can someone provide me with the code to do so?

Because it's NOT simple, that's why Tammy said 'heavily modify'. The developers are volunteers who only have time to do so much and they're well within their rights to pick and choose what modifications (if any) they want to help you out on.
Skins made by Kali are no longer supported!
That's not what you asked for originally. You asked to disallow reviews on a per chapter basis. What you're describing now is simply removing the review form from the chapter template. That's a totally different question.
To remove the review form from the template, edit the viewstory.tpl for each of your skiins and remove the {reviewform} variable. You'll then need to add that variable to the storyindex.tpl if it's not already there. Just note, this does NOT disallow reviews on a per chapter basis. It simply hides the option. If a visitor familiar with eFiction wants to review the chapter, they still can. They can also review the story more than once. And the script has NEVER kept people from reviewing more than once and ALWAYS allowed reviews by chapter.
And finally, there's a big difference between assisting someone and figuring out the entire thing myself and then giving you step by step instructions. Did you even TRY to figure it out on your own before getting mad because we didn't immediately hop to and do all the work for you? As Kali said, we're volunteers. We don't get paid for our work on eFiction. I help people do mods where I can, but there's no way I can help everyone so I pick and choose. And I make no apologies for that.
kali and Tammy thanks for your replies. I'm sorry for asking a question that you obviously think I was stupid to ask. I'm not a developer so I was not aware that asking for coding help would cause such an issue. IMO it shouldn't have been assumed I would know that. I guess from past experiences when I have asked developers and owners of other oftware for assistance in making changes and they were readily helpful in assisting me, I shouldn't have assumed the same here.
Tammy, I will look into your suggestion and see if I can make it work. And to answer your question, I searched through the forum for any topics or threads that may have addressed the same issue and I couldn't find anything that fit. And if I had I would have attempted to fix my problem myself before coming to you. I didn't just ask you for the hell of it. I asked you because I couldn't find what I needed when I researched the problem.
My profession is tech support and I know how it is to want customers to try before asking. And I also know that you can't always assume that they understand things the way that someone who knows would.
Anyway, thanks, and I will not bother any of you again.
