I would like to style the "description" for characters differently. AFAICT, right now it uses the same CSS class as a story's text when displaying the list of stories by character. Where can I change this?
(reposted in what I hope is the proper forum this time. oops.)
extra_header.php
if ($current =="characters") {
echo "<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href=""skins/SKIN_NAME/characters.css"" />";
characters.css
#story {
}
This is the description area as you surmised. You may overide certain inherited styles from style.css in here should you wish to. If it doesn't work, just ad !important before the ; at the end of an attribute in the css code.

You don't need the extra header. Take a look at the included CSSZen skin as an example. In the header.tpl there is a div with an id of {page_id}. This is a container div around everything else. On the characters page the page_id will be characters. So in your styles.css you'd use
#characters #story {
}
