Profanity detection?

I would like to warn for adult language. I alreadly have a profanity list of potentially offensive words, but the last thing I want to do is intensely read every story I add to my archive. I have 200,000 words of my own writing I'm just starting to add and haven't the time to even re-read my own work for these sorts of things. Does anyone know of some sort of simple profanity detector/filter that I can paste text into just to find out if there are naughty words?

I know it's a nit-picky thing, but I have this strict rule regarding ratings that says that even one bad word will knock what could otherwise be rated for "All Ages" up to the "Teen" bracket. Some sort of easy cheat would be really helpful.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the eFiction script, which is why I'm posting this here...

If you have a list of profanity in your Language censor setting:
http://www.yourwebsite.com/admin.php?action=censor

If someone uses one of the bad words by default the program will put an asterisk in it. Like b****.  Of course the downside to that is it will look for it in harmless words. Like Alfred Hitchcock might turn up as Alfred Hitchc*ck.

So I think if you are looking at submissions it will turn up like that in your submissions queue. So detection is already kind of there. So if you are reviewing the submission and one of the filtered words are filtered, you can change the language rating that way.

You mean the censor that's part of eFiction, right? I thought that was just for user names and comments for some reason. Okay, that'll work. Thank you.

Okay, I take back my last comment. If the censor is censoring words in the story text, I don't want to use it. I want to warn for language, but I don't actually want to censor. And if the censor isn't censoring words in the story text, then it isn't going to work to try to scan the text for censored words (I had planned to copy the text into notepad and scan for an *)...

There must be a way to do this... *headdesk*

It doesn't censor story text.  It censors usernames, story titles, comments, reviews, and summaries.  Basically, anything that's not behind a warning.

However, the function is already there. You'd just need to code something to let you run your story through it.  You'd want to use the find_naughty function.  I think basically you're looking to customize your story validation form.
