Well, now in case you were wondering, yes it's moving on, spent the last few days of my sick leave on reworking a few template things to de-uglify it, and my knee still being a pain in the .. knee means there will be time for me to work on more stuff.
So, recently I decided to throw the script and the converter in their alpha stage onto a different server with a different database source, and this is about what became of it:
Well, more or less, I did a lot of fixing and afterwards it looked like the above mansion π
Long story short, I learned that there are a _lot_ of ways one can set up a web- and database-server, and hopefully this lesson will lead to less compatibility issues in the future test phases.
Having said that, I hope that everybody understands that most likely, things will only work on half-way recent versions of PHP and MySQL (not sure about other database drivers yet).
So, what's happening now?
The Story module aka THE CORE is being reworked, it was the first thing I worked an, and over time lots of features were bodged together, using duct-tape, faith and caffeine, which turn out to be more of a short to mid-range solution. So I am tearing it apart, and putting it back together in a more structured way.
I'll keep you posted, eFiction 5 IS coming true, I know I aimed for summer, but that was maybe somewhere between overly optimistic and delusional perception.
*hehe*
Good thing there are always testing phases!
eFiction Archives:
I actually wonder if its possible to have the community contribute by using a contributing / versioning software like git.
(Yes, I started to love git ever since I learned to use it at work)
Actually I would like to contribute this way, even though I'm still in apprenticeship as I could train my personal skills on one hand and on the other contribute to the Community.
There could be as example a "Release" and a "Development" branch.
This way people could download a "Stable release" or decide to be impatient / helping out by trying out the Beta.

On another term:
Will eFiction 5.0 contain some Tagging system?
Personally I do hope it will have some or if not, have a module to implement such a system.

This made me really and truly laugh out loud. Been there. π

This pretty much looks like my first attempt at creating a skin...
