A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query: SELECT COUNT(uid) FROM settfanfiction_authorprefs WHERE stories > 0
Error: (1054) Unknown column 'stories' in 'where clause'

I've a fresh install, newly initialized etc, nothing done to the mysql database besides it being blank beforehand. No mods, no bridge, no importing of old data were done yet.

So you didn't set up any categories, ratings or classifications yet? Do that.

Also, you need to always post a link to your site. I'll assume that the info in your signature is not correct since it lists version 3.3.1 and modifications to that script.

Do you have any user accounts created yet?

Did you try and install the recommendations module? I'm getting errors about the recommendations module on your homepage. Make sure that you have everything for 3.4, even module updates from Tammy's personal site.

If it's a fresh install, I would start over. Delete the database and the file, get a new zip of 3.4.1, reupload and reinstall. See where that takes you.

Don't try adding or installing any extra things like challenges, beta readers, or recommendations until the main basic install is good, and you don't have problems like that. Make sure you have all things available to use, like categories, classifications, and characters. You have no characters on your site.

It's not a problem in either module.  It's a problem from the upgrade.  A field didn't get added to the authorprefs table.
