I'm moving this over from the upgrading thread to the bug thread since after talking it over with someone, we're thinking it's a bug in the new version.
I upgraded to 3.3.1 the other night and it's working fine, except for one problem, and I think I FINALLY figured out what the problem is and where.
People who have the "I am of the age of consent in my locale..." option in Edit Preferences set to "Yes" in order to bypass the age consent pop-ups that come up everytime you click on nc-17 rated stories, now have this come up: "Age Consent Required" on the page, and they are unable to read any of the stories.
People who have "no" selected in for the "age consent" preference, has a pop-up box that comes up EVERY time they try to read nc-17 stories, rather than how I have it set to pop-up just once...which is what I still have it set to in the Admin -> Settings -> User Settings.
In case it helps see what's going on:
An account with the Age Consent Statement set to "yes": cloudyvisions, pw: test
An account with the Age Consent Statement set to "no": test, pw: test
How can I get access to nc-17 fics for the members who have their age consent statement on "yes" and should automatically be able to view the story anyway and have the pop-up come up only onc again?

Is this even happening with anyone else in 3.3.1? Should I have this thread in a different part of the forum? I would really like to get this solved because over 2/3 of my archive is nc-17 fics and most of my readers are having this problem.
I uploaded some 3.3 files in the main directory and now people can read nc-17 fics, even though pop-ups continue to pop-up every time. I don't know what the problem is, but I can't keep waiting for help since it's killing traffic and frustrating everyone, including authors and myself. Hopefully this is something that another upgrade will fix. Thanks!

Odd, i don't even see a yes or no option in making a new user tho i have it set to 'yes' in user settings. Ah User Preferences, right. Ok, I changed it to 'yes' and I confirm it gives me a pop up message.
I have no problems with the 'warn once' feature. Although once i put it on I got both a pop up and that warning page that one time. Otherwise when set to 'no' I get it all the time despite the age rating set to 'yes'.

Well, I basically gave up on help and reverted some files back to 3.3 files that were working fine. Now the site is running smoothly, I just have a few pages that are from the 3.3 update.

I have the age consent in my profile page set on "Yes" but when I go to a MA story such as this one: http://endless.animara.org/viewstory.php?sid=57 http://endless.animara.org/viewstory.php?sid=57 there is only a "Age Consent Required" message.
In the Ratings of the admin I have the MA set for "Age Consent Required" and "Registered Users Only".
In my account in Edit Preferences I have the Consent Agreement set to "Yes" as well.

It seems that you fixed this problem on your site, what can we other users do? Do you know which files did you change? And how....

I've been having the same issue. For some users, turning off the age consent option in their user preferences works: when they visit an adult story, they get a single age consent pop-up, and then get access to the story.
For others, however, even that doesn't work. Accessing an adults-only story produces "Age consent required" as the page content itself, with nothing to click, and no story...
It appears the only solution is to downgrade to 3.3.0, but I'm hesitant to do so. Any word on this issue?
I think I just put an older version of the viewstory.php in the main folder.
But the newest update just released might fix this problem as well, so give that a try...that's what I am going to do!

Cloudy - find anything out? I'm having install issues on my spare folder, going to redo it from scratch. I'll give my 2 cents once thats finished.
Ok, this is what happened to me with 3.4.2:
I accessed an adult story, got a pop up, hit yes, it went to the chapter. I changed the preferences, I clicked the story, no pop up, but then got a blank page (probably the warning page although I did not make a warning for it hence it is blank) and a continue button which went to the chapter. Is this intended? Sounds a bit off.

Yeah, apparently now I'm getting people e-mailing me saying that they will get to reading an NC-17 story, that they did click "yes" for the age consent warning, but then it'll come up with a blank page and they can't go any further.
I think I just might turn off the pop-up warnings all together. Most people at my site know the majority of the stories are NC-17. 😉
