I just installed eFiction352 on my website and the tiny MCE editor doesn't come up. I only get a read only box. I read something about a zip feature has to be turned off by the web server and I verified it was disabled. How do I get the editor to work?

This is an experimentation site where it is not working. We have eFiction on another site with the same server and the tiny MCE is working there.

This is probably a stupid question but....

Do you have the Tiny Editor allowed in site settings?

/admin.php?action=settings&sect=sitesettings

Yes it is. I saw special instruction for a version one install for the MCE. Do they apply on version 352 as well?

The captcha images aren't loading. When I attempted to comment on your test story the security code did not appear. Your webhost might not have GD support enabled.

Try turning captcha off (Admin->Settings->Site Settings->
Use Captcha verification (change it to no)

If TinyMCE works then the captcha was the problem. I know in this forum is an alternate captcha for sites with problems with the images for captcha.

Now it's working and I don't have a clue why  πŸ˜•
Update: If you're not logged in the tiny MCE editor works but if you're logged in it doesn't work.
And it doesn't work for the Welcome page panel either for the admin to change the welcome page with the features.

Did you turn it on for yourself in your profile? Account Info > Edit Preferences.

For the profile info thing you mentioned previously, make sure Admin > Settings > Display Settings > Display profile is set to Yes.

Thank it is mostly working now except for the Welcome Page/Home Page tiny MCE editor is still only a text box.
I can add HTML to things but wish I had the MCE working.
