When I click on "Most Recent" for example, I get a bunch of information like number of chapters, characters ... how do I control what story information appears in summaries? I'm running 3.5.2.

It should be listings.tpl in your skin. 🙂

Unless you are talking about the most recent block (usually found on the index page or in a sidebar). That's controlled through the .tpl where the block is placed...usually index.tpl or header.tpl
