I've my fiction site for a long time now and besides the initiall problems I never got any more problems until now. A few days ago I wanted to test joomla in a subdomain of this site and had to create a database with mysql 5. I switched and today when I visited my site I noticed the error you''l see:
A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
ERROR: Failed to connect to the database!
I'm not sure if the site worled after the mysql upgrade or not but I think this is the first time after I did it, and the upgrade form Mysql 4 to 5.1 is the only think I can think as the cause, that's the only think I changed.
Is this possible to solve?

ps: sorry not to give more system details, I can't see them when the site is like this
Update the mysqli_functions.php file in the includes folder with the one in the SVN.

, I've been out for a long time and didn't know what SVN meant *lol the ignorance* but I found the file to update eventually 🙂
But it didn't work, I have to admit I'm freaking out a little, my host is not exactly cheap and I've paid more 6 months already o.o
It turns out I changed the password - it occured to me after readind the "unable to connect to dabase" again that it could be as simple as a password problem lol and after reading this post https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=7913.0 I solved the problem.
