Have you searched for your problem: yes
If so, what terms did you try: locked account
State the nature of your problem: A few of our members have emailed us saying that their accounts are locked, and we never did it We have tried unlocking the accounts for them but to no avail. Can't figure this one out. Any help?
Do you have a test account for us? upon request
You can try changing it in the database. I don't have access now but it's either in authors or authorprefs.
Hmm, I don't see it in there - any other suggestions?
It's the authorprefs table. The level wll be -1 for users with locked accounts.
hmm, their accounts didn't look affected in the database. I really have no idea why their accounts are acting this way - maybe just an unsolvable glitch. thanks for the help anyway, I really appreciate it. π
Have you modified any files such as user/login.php?
haven't, no. this is seriously baffling - in the database I bumped her up to admin, just to see, and the problem still remains! I guess I will ask them to make new accounts. π
Is their usernames less than 3 characters or maybe using some bizarre characters in it (like $Money#M)? I seem to remember a while ago that could potentially screw up stuff.

How are they describing these "locked" accounts. They may be calling it locked, but it may actually be something else. I'd go back to them and ask them to describe in detail what they're experiencing.
I actually asked a couple of them for their log-in information and logged into their accounts myself, and it's true - the accounts are locked! It's so bizarre.
If you could log in, the accounts are NOT locked. Locked accounts won't even be allowed to log in. They'll get an error message when they try. What EXACTLY are you experiencing? Because what you're calling locked is something else.
