Lately, I've had lots and lots and lots and lots of spam. LOTS of spam. I went out of town and my co-admin sent me IP's for close to 40+ spammers, and some of them had left over 200 reviews (that I can see so far).
I have captcha on, members have to be signed in to read/review/etc. And no anon reviews can be received. I honestly don't know what else to do. I've searched the forums and can't find where anyone else is having this issue currently, so I'm at a loss. Is there a way to change the captcha with something else? Such as say... a picture captcha instead or something similar? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
We're not getting spammed with story spam, but with review spam. I've also noticed the hardest hit stories have been the featured stories. Does anyone have any suggestions for this or point me in the right direction? I would love to be able to just replace the outdated captcha completely, but anything would help, especially if I don't have to accept members by email. That would really suck if I did.

From what I know, there's two things you can do. You can either bridge your site with an SMF forum, which then will change how users login. They have a lot of spam modifications, including better captchas and things using Project Honeypot which will stop the users registering all together. The other option is using the mods available on here - I know there's a more complex captcha mod although I haven't used it so I couldn't tell you how good it is. Hope that helps 🙂
