I'm curious, because I know I've seen some talk about how unsafe embeding videos is, but is it possible to embed a song or sound bite into a single chapter? I've seen a few threads saying they added music players to the whole site, but that's not what I want. I want it for certain chapters. I don't know if this is even possible but any advice would be great. Thanks.

Edit: Actually let me clarify this. I realize adding the embed html tag is a security risk, I was just wondering if there was another way besides emebeding a player of sorts. Seems like a really ridiculous question now that I ask it, but it couldn't hurt I guess.

You'd have to embed something.

I found this:

http://developer.yahoo.com/mediaplayer/

There are others too, but this one looked easiest. Would it be possible to add a javascript based player that could show in only the chapters? I want it where only I can do it.
If this is possible, where would I put the script? I was thinking the stories.php maybe? I created a folder to keep all the mp3 files in but I have no idea if this is safe or possible.

I also found this one too, which is originally a WP plug-in but can be used for different sites.

It doesn't look like anything would need to be embeded for either of these, and seems like a safer way to do things. I'm just not sure where the script would go and then how to get it on the page.

OK, another question.
First off, I got the WP plug-in to work properly on my test site. It took me adding the script , param and object tag to do so, but that seems like just as much of a security risk as embed since someone can add script to the site, so I'm guessing that wouldn't be a good idea.

Secondly, when I deleted all the tags (embed, script, param, and object) I went back into the story and both players still show up. The one I emebed and the one I used the script for. I logged out, back in, deleted browser cookies and cache and it still shows up. I went to another story and added the embeded code to see if maybe it wasn't resetting from where I deleted the tags, and it won't let me embed.

So, is there a reason why it's not taking out the embeded player and the script player after I deleted the tags? Could it be possible to just activate the tags long enough to embed the player into the chapter and delete the tags so that no one else can add content? It's project playlist that I want to use and I've used them for years and never had an issue, so I trust it enough to let it onto the site, but I'm curious if it will maybe disappear later on for some reason if I do delete the tags afterward.

Gah, I really hope that made sense. Any advice would be great. Thanks

The tags list only affects things when you ADD or EDIT an item.  Once it's in the database it doesn't change until you edit it.
