Guidance Tips

A good friend of mine has been looking into making an efiction site and I've been trying to help her understand things since I'm a bit more savvy at making websites than she is..thing is, I had read the readme manual that's in the efiction folder but a lot of the installation instructions are rather confusing..very complex in a way. But once the template is in front of me I believe  I can easily figure out the actual designing of the site from there as the functions behind the admin panel would be straightforward. Would any of you be able to go though the instructions and do a bit by bit break down of them? Thanks in advance. ^^
