IS it possible to have efiction on my main domain as well as my sub domain? Can it be done without messing up anything?

When you create your second archive create a new mysql database. If you're hosting provider has limited your number of mysql databases, use a prefix on the table name.

Yes. In addition to the unique table prefix, you need a unique site key in the second installation. You must also install it in a separate folder on your server.
