Have you searched for your problem: Yes
If so, what terms did you try: Category Count, Category Count incorrect/Missing
State the nature of your problem:

I just went into the Site Admin and clicked on the following under Archive Maintenance:  Recalculate Reviews, Recalculate Stories, Fix Category Counts, Fix Category Order, Re-calculate Site Statistics, Fix Panel Order.  Something went drastically wrong.

The stats before the Maintenance were:

Members: 4080
Authors: 1343
Stories: 3897
Reviews: 8381

And after, they were:

Members: 4081
Authors: 1344
Stories: 3879
Reviews: 8183

The Fanfics dropped by 18, but my huge concern is the reviews, which dropped by a whooping 198.  There is absolutely no way that that many reviews went missing from Authors withdrawing their Fanfics. Nothing has been removed, so I really concerned that something is wrong.  Can someone please tell me what to do?  Almost 200 of Author's reviews have gone missing.

Regards,
Aurelia

If the stories that were removed had large review counts, then it is entirely likely that is what has happened. Some of our stories have 1000 plus reviews so if an author chooses to remove it, the reviews numbers can plummet drastically.

why is nothing ever easy?

Hi Jacci,

Yes, that was my first thought too. However, when I went to the cached copy of my site on Google from a week ago, I can see that almost fifty new Fanfics had been added (Due to my moderators sending out heaps of invites) so even if we take away the 20 who may have left and taken the reviews with them, there are still another thirty Fanfics not showing up in the count on the main page.  Is there some way to alter the count to select the real numbers, as it is obviously not correct?

I will go through and tally all of the reviews for each individual category if I need to.  People have already noticed what happened and are very concerned that Fanfics and reviews might have gone missing.  I DID go through over the last two days and add about forty new pairings and categories. Some were out of order and I moved them to the right place, but I may have accidently deleted something.

Hugs,
Aurelia
