I've noticed the forum has been very quiet. I'm hoping someone is still out there to help me.  Is this software still working and all of that?    πŸ™  I love it so much so I hope it is.

my question is, after some issue I've realized I've never really learn how to do back ups.  I've just downloaded the back up from the admin panel.  I'm wondering how to install it.  Is there a better way to make backs ups of the site.

Is there a way to clone this site so I can test the back up?

I keep a spare, zipped copy of the files on my hard drive.  Luckily, I do all my coding on my desktop and not the hosted versions.  For the MySQL, I do a database dump using phpMyAdmin (which will then turn around and restore it).  Since the archive doesn't have a restore function, the efiction backup isn't reliable enough to restore using whatever other method the host uses.

I also keep a spare text file detailing all the changes I've made to the standard theme/efiction files, so I can redo them for an update or a restore.

efiction - 3.5.3
MySql - 5.5.32
php - 5.5.22
Linex - Apache 2.2.17
