I have noticed this recently, when an author goes to the 'Add New Story' section, I see the usual spaces for title, summary, story notes, category, characters, etc.. But no option to choose what series the story is about. Is this normal, or is there something wrong? And if this ISN'T one of the standard options, is there a way that I can add that feature? It's really an annoyance to have to peruse my archive one fic at a time to make sure they're listed under the proper series'...

I'm pretty sure you have to choose the Series after you've added a story.
The author logs in and click on Manage Series
Click on ADD TO SERIES and then choose their story out of the queue of their fics.
(Or ADD A NEW SERIES if they are adding to a new series).
I don't think it's ever been part of the add a story interface at all.
(At least not that I remember)

After reading further into other support requests, I see that it isn't a standard option.. But is there a way to add it as one? Only certain people are allowed to post in my archive, and all of them post to a set listing of series'..

Ah... now this is when I defer to the folks who boldly muck about the script. (Although I'm sure someone will say you should ask this in the mod section of the forum). So Tammy? Lyndsie? Elle? Bueller? πŸ™‚

You'd have to build it.  There's nothing built into the script that would allow it.  You'd need to edit stories.php and includes/storyform.php.

...and I really have no idea how I would do that. But thanks for even bothering to answer, I guess.
