I am new to this, I can view story but I cant view chapters.

I have valiidated it, set stories to 777, but I cant work it out.

Wont seem to add stories either.

It wont even add a chapter as that error comes up.

What about this?  What's the whole error?  BTW, did you mean to post this in 2.0 support?  The current version is 3.4.

I think this is the right version.

And I;m not sure about the error as the header blocks it.

What version does it display in the admin panel?  Do a view source to find the error message.

It means there isn't any chapter files/folders there. Are you able to create folders/files when you write a new chapter?

I think you'll need to save stories in the database, then. o_O

Is safe_mode turned on?

Login in and under Admin, click the phpinfo link
Scroll down and you should see something that says

                        Local Mode      Master Mode
safe_mode Off                 Off

It's it's on, you will have to ask your web provider if they can turn it off. If they refuse you will probably have to start saving stories in the database rather than in the stories folder.

And you created a folder called stories when you installed the software and chmod'ed it to 777?  If so, you'll most likely have to switch to storing the stories in the database.
