I really don't know what this message means. I received it on several occasions:

Warning: fsockopen() expects parameter 2 to be long, string given in /is/htdocs/41917/www.slayerzone.de/vampires/includes/smtp_include.php on line 106

- I received it while trying to send a test-email to my members:
http://vampire.fan-fictions.net/admin.php?action=mailusers
- I received the message when registering a test-account:
http://vampire.fan-fictions.net/user.php?action=register

I had members complaining about:
- That they email-adressed were considered invalid when registering.
- Or that the password they choose when registering was said to not match the database (which is impossible, because they were just registering)
- Members do not get valited when registering and though all settings are correct, the stories do not appear until being validated by an admin.

I did check all my settings twice, thrice... etc. Searching with Google and searching the forum did not yield any results.

Are you sending emails with smtp? If so, try it with the php sendmail function. Check that your mail server settings are emty. (Admin / settings / e-mail settings)

That worked on both accounts, meaning the emails and the registration...

No, I just have to figure out the rest...
