I did a search for this problem, and I didn't find the exact problem, so here's a new thread.

The config file is 666 and stories folder is 777.

Stories are only showing up in the submission's queue if they're uploaded as HTML files or c/p'ed into the tinyMCE window.

But when I, as a mod, verify the submission, it simply does not show up.

I do not verify users, as anyone can register, read and comment. However, they are not authors until they submit a story.

I am using 3.2.1

I think we just had the validation problem as a bug in an earlier version. 🙁

My advice is to try downloading 3.2.1 again and make sure that all the files (except TinyMCE) are getting loaded up on your server. It may be that it didn't upload a new file correctly before, or you missed one (I've done that before!).

If you look at all the comments I've made, you'd see I re-installed one or two times for other problems.
I'm worried if I do it again I'd lose all the progress I've made fixing my OTHER errors.
I THINK that I've tried all the solutions in this thread here https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=4838.0

Now I've tried another test story. It validates, but it doesn't show up that I wrote it (Says I wrote 4 fics and not 5) but if I look up the url  http://shfanfic.splurd.com/viewstory.php?sid=10 I can see it. This is the test story.
http://shfanfic.splurd.com/viewstory.php?sid=9 is a fic a non-admin submitted and isn't showing up.

Also, when I validated my test fic, it hasn't left the submission's Queue.

I broke something, I'm sure of it.
Like I said in previous bug report/questions, I am a newb and this is my first time using eFic. I didn't upgrade, this is a fresh archive.

Well, to be fair, we don't really know how many times you've reinstalled, because you aren't telling us how you fixed your problems, you're just marking the threads as solved. (The posts I've seen anyway.)

That said, when I click on the link for the story you say is working, I get this message: That story does not exist on this archive. You may search for it or return to the home page.

The one you say doesn't work, works fine, though. Click on chapter one and there is...chapter one, like magic.

Though you should make sure debugging is turned off--that does tend to cause some problems and it looks like you have it on.

I didn't mean to sound snippy, my apologies.
How do I turn it off? It says "Display Debugging info" is off in admin.

Sorry the linked story that wasn't showing up for you is actually http://shfanfic.splurd.com/viewstory.php?sid=9 and the other one, I deleted it, because it was finally showing up.
I had to go into the DB and manually allow them, along with manually validating the other author.

And the stats are now not updating, much like https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=4845.msg26168#msg26168 and https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=4739.0

The queue is still not flushing itself out as well.

I didn't mean to tell you to reinstall, but to reupload. Reuploading files shouldn't change anything in your database. If you modified the coding in the files though, you'd have to do it again, which if they are mods you'll have to do anyway when the script is updated.

Anyways, check this thread:
https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=4838.0

and maybe this one:

Thank you very much
https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=4742.0 seemed to fix it.
But the author count is still not rising, even after Authors are validated.

The author count will rise when people submit stories and become authors. Yours is only off by one, which you should be able to fix by going to admin>archive maintenance>recalculate site statistics
