URL to your eFiction: http://www.markedbytheboys.com/fanfiction
Version of eFiction: 3.5.1
Have you bridged eFiction, if so with what?: i don't know what that means...so I guess I have not done it.
Version of PHP: can be found out from your host: 6 I beleive
Version of MySQL: can be found out from your host: sql 5
Have you searched for your problem: (yes/no) yes, found something similar, but don't know if it is the same issue
If so, what terms did you try: uploading images
State the nature of your problem: Copy and paste any errors you are receiving.
Do you have a test account for us? Yes, but it is not admin, and I would really rather not post the password here...but I can pm it to anyone! πŸ™‚

This is what one of my members messaged me:

Ok, here's a weird one. I tried to upload my banner for Hunted. It comes in at 500 x 250. When I uploaded it, it told me the image was too big and the maximum size was 800 x 400. So I tried it again. Same thing. I had to size it down to 400 x 200 in order for it to upload.

Is there a kb size limit that it doesn't want to exceed? The image is only 70 kb. I know I've seen a bigger banner in the archive than mine (I just can't remember which story). Or am I just speshul with technology?

I had a similar issue the other day when trying to upload an image that was like 200X200. I originally had my file size at 600X300. So I changed the max size to 800X400, and then it uploaded fine.

I am pretty sure my host allows 25Mb uploads.

What might be the issue?   πŸ˜•

Hmm, assuming they do mean the right message, then it should be the resolution thing. Are you sure that one of those isn't reversed, like 250 x 500, so that 500 > than 400 and it's failing?

There is a built-in filesize limit in eFiction (250Mb), but with that I've only see the "Error! We have encountered an error!" message, or in the case of my site some unrelated-sounding MySQL error.

You know, I tried to reverse them.  Before I had it like this under submission settings:

Max image height: 400
Max image width: 800

But I tried for the hell of it:

Max image height: 800
Max image width: 400

And it worked!  I wonder... are they reversed possibly in the database?

It sounds like something might be backwards. I assume the image in question actually is wider than it is tall? (Since it's a banner that's what I would guess.)

Yep, it's wider than it is tall.

Oh well, that's ok. I don't mind if it is backwards, as long as it works.

I personally don't use banners - but I have some people who are photoshop junkies, and enjoy them.
