eFiction 3.3.1 bridged with SMF 1.1.4:w/Tiny Portal 0.9.8
Problem:
Unwanted slashes appearing in StoryTitles that have apostrophes - but only in Random and Recent Story blocks.
Oddly, enough - this problem only seems to manifest itself in one of the two templates I have installed (Efiction 3 skin created by Kali) however, when I go to "Edit Story in either template - the slash is there and simply removing it by deleting it and then saving simply doesn't get rid of it.
Yes - I have searched and found nothing relevant to this problem.
What I'm experiencing doesn't have anything to so with the previously mention "Series Title" issue.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I have the same problem with php 5 and up since my host has magic_quotes_gpc turned off for 5.x.x. They also had to option of using php 4, which has magic_quotes_gpc set to on, so when I switched to that, the problem went away. Believe it or not, it was worse at one point. Tammy has fixed most of the problems, but I didn't want to bother her again with this since it seemed that I was the only one having problems with it...

I looked at your site and saw that we use the same host - everything was really simple after that.
I don't think that switching php versions will cause any issues for any other software on the site... it worked. All I had to do afterwards was edit those stories with existing extra slashes - and now all is well in the land of miko. Thanks so much!

I have found that downgrading my php version to 4.4 caused some other problems with eFiction -not only that, I was no longer able to use several other valuable applications on my site because of that.
Is there any possible solution to this problem that doesn't involve sending my system back to the dark ages?
