I am unable to login to my efiction admin account. When I enter my username and password then press login I get the following come up on my screen
Warning: main(_BASEDIRincludes/mysql_functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/ltaurfanfics.awardspace.com/includes/dbfunctions.php on line 3
Warning: main(): Failed opening '_BASEDIRincludes/mysql_functions.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/php4/share/pear') in /home/www/ltaurfanfics.awardspace.com/includes/dbfunctions.php on line 3
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: dbconnect() in /home/www/ltaurfanfics.awardspace.com/config.php on line 10
I've tried reinstalling several times but still have the same problem. Now my site is stuck in maintainance mode. I was logged in fine after upgrading to 3.3 which I did on the 2nd of August or thereabouts.
The URL to my site is http://ltaurfanfics.awardspace.com/index.php
Any suggestions as to what the problem may be?
Your website appears for about 30 seconds before it bounces to: http://www.awardspace.com/home.html
You might have to go into MyPHPAdmin and turn the maintenance screen off through there.
Look in fanfiction_settings, Check the box next to Maintenance and the pencil icon to edit
Under the Default cell change that from 1 to 0 and save
And it should pull your site out of maintenance mode.
I think the mysql error is saying it can't connect to the database though. That might be something you have to mention to your webhost.

The site is still coming up in maintainance mode. And it doesn't flick to the awardspace homepage for me when I use the link.
Follow babaca's instructions above, but check your version number in the settings table. Make sure it's 3.3.
I did as you said and its now 3.3 for version number in the settings table. Unfortunately its still in maintainance mode and I still can't log in to switch it off. I can't understand why I'd suddenly start having this problem as I had no problems like this until now. Even after the upgrade to 3.3 I was still logged in. I've checked my config file to see if the dbname etc are correct and they are.
Try to do this again, and tell us if it doesn't change to 0:
Look in fanfiction_settings, Check the box next to Maintenance and the pencil icon to edit
Under the Default cell change that from 1 to 0 and save

I did as you said but the default value is already on 0 from when I originally changed it. My site is still in maintaince mode though. I've also posted on awardspace's forums about the being unable to login to see if they can help as it was suggested here that I'm unable to connect to my database on their server
I would check in myphpAdmin to see if you are still listed as the administrator. I had a problem earlier in the year where I couldn't log into one of my sites and when I checked in myphpadmin my name was still listed as admistrator but someone had changed the email address. They didn't do anything else to the site. I replaced the info with a backup copy of the database and that fixed the problem.

I'm not sure if this is what you've been doing, but the instructions above are confusing. You need to make sure the ACTUAL value in the database for maintenance mode is 0. Once you get into your settings table, click on browse, then check the value from there. The changing the default value will not change it if it's already been changed to 1.
Ok I browsed the fanfic_settings table and discovered something that may have a bearing on the problems I've been having. It had multiple records of settings and there seemed to be settings for each time I've updated the site. So I removed all records other than the3.3 settings. Maintaince is 0 for that record. But now my site won't work properly. It doesn't come up properly and the login problem is still there. I've had no reply from awardspace to my thread I placed on their forums. I've reached the point with this where I"m going to move to something else. I've had enough problems with this script and feel its not working for me anymore. I'll be around on fan fiction.net.
I'm sorry you gave up. But some of the scripting problems might have been because of the webhost. I've been playing with a couple of freehosts to create a test version of efic to play with. I couldn't even get the script to install properly on justfree.com, but when I tried freehostia.com it installed without a hitch. Good luck.
