Hi Monica,

How did you go? Whenever I've moved an eFiction site I've just moved the actual files to the new location, and updated the site information in the MySQL database.

Do you have access to your databse through a webinterface? (phpMyAdmin / phpminiadmin or similiar)

You will have to update the table "fanfiction_setting".
There you will find the "url" which you have to update.
Heres the SQL you'll have to execute:

[code=MySQL]UPDATE fanfiction_settings
SET url=" http://www.sitename.com"
WHERE url=" http://fanfiction.sitename.com" LIMIT 1;

(for those who understand it: I added a where clause to make sure Monica is updating the right one, also the Limit is just a security measurement  :wink:)

Just FYI... You don't need to go to the database to edit the settings. It's much easier to do that in the admin section under settings. The URL can be changed in the Site Information section.

Well I honestly didn't try it out and with most scripts, when the base_url has been changed, they fail all the security tests and/or simply forward you to the URL thats been configured.
