Hi guys, I run The Snitch. I attempted the upgrade to 3.3, messed it up, then Calic0cat helped me out. Unfortunately, some things aren't working the way they should. On all three archives, no one can see the security code when trying to register for an account.

On TSS I, there are doubles of all the account info links, but no links to update or manage stories. I have all the links, though still doubled, as an admin. Is this something that I can fix easily or do I have to do something funky?

Also, apparently they can't edit or save favourites. Either authors or stories. I've even had someone email me and tell me that their favourites were gone, though I don't know if that was an isolated incident or if everyone is having that problem.
I'm also not sure if this is the place to post this, or if I should have posted this in the upgrade section.
Anyhow, I would be so thankful if someone could help me get this fixed. I've been putting it off long enough because I just got a new job, but I think it really needs to be fixed now.
Thanks in advance for the help. I'm just totally at my wits end.

Which version were you upgrading from?
Re: captcha/security.
I have this feeling it's either related to your GD or PHP version.
includes/button.php
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagettftext() in /home/snitch/public_html/tss1/includes/button.php on line 67

You might have to install the previous version of captcha. You can get the download from Tammy's website: http://efiction.hugosnebula.com/ (You have to be logged in to see the download files. It's under 3.3+ modules, and called Basic CAPTCHA.

Mucking around in eFiction since circa 2001 (ver. 1.0)
Now running v.3
I upgraded from 2.0.7 I believe. I'm not seeing the error that you displayed on the page, Jenny.
Also, I'm not seeing what you're speaking about on that website, babaca. Though, I could just be blind.
I -could- turn off the captcha verification on the archives so that people could still register, but we were getting spam reviews and challenges a while back which are a pain in the butt.
Still having problems with the doubled links in the user menu and the admin menu on TSS I.

For the site babaca posted, you'll have to register and it'll be under 'Downloads' I'm assuming ... I'm not currently logged in.

I was signed in, but I couldn't find it. I finally did and it worked.
Now I just need to figure out what's going on with the adding/editing story links and the doubled up links on TSS I.
Thanks for your help!

I've also received this error when I attempted to access the Modules section of the Admin menu.
A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query: SELECT * FROM fanfiction_modules ORDER BY name
Error: (1146) Table 'snitch_tss1.fanfiction_modules' doesn't exist
It seems we're also missing one of the tables on the database (there's only 26, not 27). I'm attempting to try and figure out what I can do, but, alas, I'm kind of clueless.

Do you have a modules table? :S
I know, from the error, it says it doesn't exist -- but I'm wondering, because you might have a table prefix.
Hm, have you tried importing the module table (only) from a SQL backup?

Ok. I got the module table to work. It wasn't there, I found one and imported it after removing the table prefix. Now my problem is getting the links in the user profiles.
I tried messing about with it a bit, hoping I would get it to work. Yeah, it's not working. I deleted all the duplicate links, and even attempted to change some of the permissions because all the submission panels were set to 1, which is admin, correct?
What would be the correct level for a regular member? 4 or 0? And now the only links showing up on the user menu are Edit Preferences and Logout.
The site is down right now because we went over our bandwidth and I'm looking into getting it fixed at this very moment.
Any advice about what I should do once I get the archives back up would rock.

I'm in. π
The regular member links should be set to '1'. My links are set to that, anyway ...
From the admin manual re: panels:
The panel level is used to determine who has access to that panel. This is most applicable to the admin and member account panels. In the admin panels the level is the admin level required to access the panel. In the member account panels, it is used to determine whether or not the visitor must be logged in to see the panel. 0 is for visitor access (registration, lost password, login) and 1 is for member access (everything else).

I got the links fixed but now I'm still having a problem with the favourites. Apparently, people still can't save and some of their favourites are either gone or they have favourites that they didn't save.
I think that other than that, everything is working now.
