Okay I admit I'm not expert at this and learning as I go... so I could have missed a step.
I just upgraded from 3.0 to 3.5.3 everything went well - I was able to get into the Archive via my admin login - upgrade etc.
When I logged out to test it - it said it's in Maintenance mode. Am I supposed to delete something? Help this is really frustrating that I can't figure this out and since I'm not seeing anything like this on the forum I know I'm not seeing something very simple.
The site goes into maintenance mode during upgrades. Check Admin > Settings > Site Settings. Set "Maintenance" to "No" to turn it off.
Then check the main admin page to check what version you are running.
