Hi
I'm a first-timer with eFiction, set it up just today and managed to get this far with tutorials and luck, but now I'm stuck with a problem I can't seem to find an answer to. I'm using the Jelly skin, if that has any importance.
my website. here
Using the 3.4.2 version.
I've tried posting stories with my admin account and a different account but the result is the same; the author notes and everything else shows, but not the actual story. I browsed through the forum here but the topics where people had similar problems, didn't solve mine.
The path for the stories is currently /stories.php since I tried playing with after it failed to work as just stories. And the stories will be saved in files and not the database, if that's a question. And there's not the word 'curl' in the stories since they'd be in Finnish. That brings forth a question, as to could the added letters (Γ€ and ΓΆ which I could not figure out how to add to the language file, important?) in the text make it disappear?
And I have CHMOed the stories file, first to 777 and now to 755 since I tried if that'd solve it as it seemed to do the trick for others.
Anyone? π
Change your stories path from /stories.php to stories. Do NOT try to change it like that. stories should be a folder. stories.php is a script file page.
Look for your stories folder. You might have named it something else. Your site says that http://memororis.com/efiction/stories does not exist.
The stories folder on your remote (online) server should have other folders in it, they have the numbers names like 1, 2, 3, and the number folders should have text files in them (the story text).
Find the folder and use that name as the stories path relative to your eFiction location.
If the folder under efiction is called bookpages then the story path is bookpages
If the folder under efiction is called stories then the story path is stories

Yeah, I had somehow read past the readme-file where it said to create the stories folder and I thought the stories.php worked as that. *headdesk* Now it works. π
Thanks for the help!
