I am in need of a very patient person who would be willing to walk me through an initial set up.  I've read through many many support posts and everything is jut a tad bit overwhelming.  I have a general idea of what needs to be done but I'm a little worried about just jumping in whithout knowing exactly what I'm doing.

I have an existing archive (relatively small) that has never been "automated" in any way.  I'm taking my first steps into this process and would greatly appreciate someone who wouldn't be frustrated by my desire to be taught.  I know nothing except the basic concept of PHP but I do have HTML and some Java experience.  I'm a great student and I catch on quickly.

I use Populli.net which uses MySQL version 4.1.22 standard.
I also use cpanel version 11.23.6-release and cpanel build 27225

Hello,

Have you read the installation documents?

The manual is quite straight-forward for an initial set up. Unless you're unsure of which method to save under and/or what CHMOD means?

The wiki had a good explanation of the pros and cons of each storage method (i.e. to save the stories in the database or in .txt format), but it seems to be down at the moment.

You can set up a dummy archive to test it out, and if you run into any specific problems there, then I'm sure the forum will be happy to help.

At the moment, your post seems quite vague, but from your post it seems like you just need a hand to hold you through it, and you're quite intelligent so I think you'll be fine for the preliminaries -- good luck.
