Hey there
First of all, if I'm posting this thread not in the right cat my excuses.
secondly I want to apologize for my not so neat englisch.
Here's the thing.
Today I've installed Joomla and Efictions
Using the Jfiction bridge I was recommended around here. The install went very smooth, meaning both systems and the bridge.
But there are a few things that I encountered, witch I don't no how to handle correctly.
First here are some links:
www.mydome.nl/V5 That's supposed to become the mainsite in a bit.
www.mydome.nl/V5/myfictions thats the map holding efictions.
Well now my problems are the following:
The users I selected to be superadministrator can't see the admin (link) in the menu on MyFiction (efiction). According to the bridge it is suppose to do that. It would be very nice for me if my crew had the possibility to make categories etc for stories.
The second problem is the login that appaers at the efictions map. If someone tries to login trough there the page after submitting their login turns white.
If they login via the link in the menu it will do correctly.
If someone feels like seeing what I talk about with my last problem, here's a test user account:
username: Test
Password: Test01
According to this I saw in the bridge directions that I'm supposed to disable the login possiblity in efiction. But I'm totally not sure about how to do that.
Besides these 2 problems I've got a little thing I also wonder. Is there a possiblity that I put a menu (with an link to my home and other subsites) if so, can someone please explain me how I do that?
Many thanks, and sorry for asking stupid questions (since I didn't see a similar problem with using the seach ingine i'm pretty sure the problems are a result of me being not very used to these things. π³
That's a bridge written by a third party, so not a lot of people around here would know much about it. I looked at the thread Brat made ( https://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=7390.0) where he/she says they've got a separate forum for bug reports and stuff like that. I bet that's the best place to find an answer (although Brat might also see your post here).
Unfortunatly my problems stil remain. Beside the above metiont problems i've noticed another one.
If i view my members on my main page to be (that means my joomla) i see the correct number of members.
However if i try to view them in efiction i've got mebers mentioned twice or even three times.
And it's also a problem that the members whom i made a superadmin, don't get any amdinrights in efiction. That means not all of them.
i've got my other problems also posted on the joomla site. But this last one is showing up in efiction however.
And still i'm struggelung to get the loginbox off the efiction page.
Anyone, please help?
This is not the proper forum for reporting problems with JFiction. π
The original mod thread, or JoomlaCode, are the proper places for trouble reports. At JoomlaCode, you can post VERY detailed, technical reports that make it so much easier for me to track down coding problems. Make sure you are using the latest code, as there have been several updates. I'm also subscribed to eFiction, and PMs route right to my email. I've been working with someone on extreme testing, and with her help have been fixing bugs.
One thing I can tell you (not sure if you read this already) the current version of JFiction assumes that $settingsprefix and $tableprefix are the same value, and uses only $settingprefix. I posted this both in the MOD forum and at JoomlaCode. If you are using different values, this version of JFiction won't work for you. I will address this in the next release once I am sufficiently sure that the current codebase is stable.
Also, JFiction uses a "sync-by-login" method. Quite simply (again, detailed in the MOD forum) the two systems are very different. So, members are not pre-synchronized. You will see a disparity in member counts until everyone logs in and gets synchronized.
Also, if you are using SEF, as I explained in the documentation, I have done no testing in SEF environments (since no one's SEF seems to ever be set up the same), so I have no idea how this would impact the system.
Please PM me to discuss further, as I am willing to personally help with the first few installations.
