I know exactly why I'm getting this error (I set the block to index only without thinking about it). Where do I go to fix this and what do I do?

URL of page w/ error: http://www.gokugirl.com/slash/index.php

Edit: I apologize if I sounded demanding. I will be grateful for any help.

Next time when submitting a suport request, it would be much more helpful if you included the error that is occuring on your site which would be:

A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Query: SELECT * FROM slashfanfiction_online WHERE online_uid=0 AND online_ip = INET_ATON('24.46.14.196')
Error: (1054) Unknown column 'online_uid' in 'where clause'

To set the block to online go to the block admin.  Admin->Blocks.  I doubt that's the problem though.  Seems more likely that the table didn't get installed correctly.

I'm sorry for not including the error message. I usually do. I also forgot to say that I can't access any page, I only receive the error. I started receiving it after I activated the block and set it to "index only." This is why I thought that was what caused the error.

How do I install the table correctly? (Keeping in mind that I don't know my way around an SQL database.) Or should I just turn it off for now?

Well you're going to have to turn it off to access your site.  Open your default skin and add to the variables.php:

$blocks['online']['status'] = 0;

Then you can try going to this URL on your site:

http://www.yoursite.com/admin.php?action=blocks&init=online

where www.yoursite.com is the URL to your site.

I turned it off in variables.php, logged in, and went to the url to initialize it. When I turned the block back on (using "1" for active on every page, correct?), I received the error again.

Go look at phpMyAdmin and see if the online block was actually created.

It was created, but it's in there three times. All three are set to active.

The table was in "fanfiction_blocks" three times (the first initialization and I used the URL you posted twice). And all three are set to active. I deleted the two extras and turned back on the block in variables.php but the error's still there.

fanfiction_online exists and has data.

Drop the online table from your database, delete the block then reinitialize it.

I think I figured out what caused the error. This archive may have been a 1.1 archive originally. If so, then I had applied the who's online mod to it. Since I never got around to modding 2.0, I completely forgot about it.

I dropped the table and deleted the block. After reinitializing and reactivating it in variables.php, the block was completely empty on the index page. I investigated the database and saw that the block_file field was empty (the block_title field had been empty as well, but I added a title in the admin). I edited the field to point to the right file and refreshed the index page. Everything looks fine now.

In the fanfiction_online table, there aren't any indexes. There were before. What do I put there?

I know thi says solved but I didn't want to start a different thread for this issue, not sure if that's allowed. Anyway, is this the fix? I too am testing an upgrade from v1.1 and I am having this very same issue. Could you please post the exact steps to took to fix this problem? Thanks.
