Hello,

I'm sorry if this is a really silly question, or if it's been answered before (I searched it but to no avail) but I am a completely new user to eFiction, I have only really just heard of it and after some looking around it's definitely what I have in mind for a fanfiction site.

I also apologise for not using the support template.. being that this is only a 'newbie' question and that I have no installed it anywhere yet, none of the questions were really appropriate for the question.

& the question is: what is $sitekey?

(it is in config.php)

I am very confused, do I just put in a random key/string? Or is it something that's already been "used" on my site before?

Thank you in advance!

sitekey is a unique variable(?) given to each installation of efiction. It's primary purpose is to allow you to have more than one instance of efiction on the same domain without them trading off cookie information. Without $sitekey, if you had two installations of the same domain, when you logged into one, it logged you into the other even if you weren't registered on them both.

I'm pretty sure that this is explained during the installation process. You are supposed to hand code the config.php, though you are welcome to look at it...

Just to clarify, I meant to say, you aren't supposed to hand code the config.php...
