Extra: I've followed all the updating instructions and still have no idea why it's continuing to tell me that I need to update?
Steps I followed: Uploaded all files in the 3.3 download except config.php and then went to Admin > Archive Maintenence > Run Update where I get this message This update has already been completed. No further action is needed. which I got when I updated saying congrats you are now updated but when I go into Version Check it tells me I need to update. Any suggestions?
What does it say your version number is in the main admin page? If it says something other than 3.3, go to phpMyAdmin and change the version number in your settings table to be 3.3.

That's what it says when you go to the admin section and I am no where near advanced in efiction so I'm sorry to ask this for I've looked all over and through all my site files... where would I find phpMyAdmin?
It's a utility your host usually provides. Try this if you can get into your admin area.
Go to custom pages. Add a new custom page. Enter whatever you like in name and title. Click the toggle to turn tinyMCE off if you have it turned on. Tthen enter this in the text.

Click Preview. If you see the action successful message you should be good to go.
Well the person who provides my hosting stuff is my husband who rents the band width from some company since he runs several site... anyways I have direct access to my box.
